Widow and Family Receive Sturdy Home

Mrs. Nguyen Thi Lien and her family of Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province are the latest recipients of a Kids Promise home.

Mrs. Lien has been a widow for several years and has two older children to support. Her 15-year-old daughter is in secondary school, but her 20-year-old son who had left the home to earn money was in an accident on the job. He sustained injuries and now cannot work.

The family had been living in the original house for more than 10 years, farming and gardening to make a living. The Kids Promise team reports that the new home has given the family “endless happiness” and Mrs. Lien no longer fears the winter weather that plagued the family in the old home.
