Kids Promise Announces 40th Charity Home
We are pleased to announce a milestone achievement: The 40th Kids Promise Charity Home has been given to a deserving family in Binh Phuoc province, Vietnam.
The family of four – Mr. Dong Van Tuan, Mrs. Dieu Thi Vui, and two children in grades 4 and 6 – were living in a motel because they had no home of their own. Mr. Tuan had a stable job but was laid off last year, and Mrs. Vui’s income is not enough to support the family. They owed three months of back rent on their current accommodations.
Mr. Tuan’s father died years ago and his mother was extremely poor, leaving the family with no option for staying with relatives. However, Mr. Tuan’s mother had a small bit of land that was just big enough to build a Kids Promise Charity Home. With the new house, the family can live comfortably and safely. The children are focused on their education while the entire family is better supported for a brighter future.
With support from our generous donors, Kids Promise was able to build a 48m2 house with a reinforced concrete foundation, brick columns, ceramic tile lining, plastering and whitewashing. The building will keep this family dry in the rainy season and cool in the summer months. We were also able to provide a few pieces of furniture for the family to use for living and studying.
Thank you to our new and long-time donors for helping us build a better future for deserving families in Vietnam!
