Kids Promise Announces Its 52nd Charity Home

On June 1, 2024, the Kids Promise team held a ceremony to hand over charity house No. 52 to the family of Mr. Phan Van Kiem and Ms. Thach Thi Xuan, along with three children: Pham Minh Tri, who is in 7th grade, Pham Minh Khoi, who is in 5th grade, and Pham Minh Tien, who is in 3rd grade in Hamlet 3, Trinh Phu commune, Ke Sach district, Soc Trang province.

The emotional ceremony included the family, Kids Promise representatives, sponsors, families, and neighbors.

A Safe Space for a Joyous Family

Vietnamese home with thatched roof. When they finally entered their spacious new house, Mr. Kiem, Ms. Xuan, and the three children couldn’t hide their joy. The charity house is about 45 square meters, with reinforced concrete columns, ceramic tile floors, and carefully plastered walls. This is a priceless gift for the family, helping them escape a temporary and needy life.

In particular, three children, Tri, Khoi, and Tien, although still young, soon understood the preciousness of their new house. Before this, the family had to live in temporary conditions, with a thatched house, mud walls, and leaks. The children were always afraid when night fell. Now, the children have a safe place to live without worrying about the wind and rain.

Gifts Beyond the Home

House No. 52 was built with funding from Mr. Ho Dac Danh and Ms. Kim Le from Grand Prairie, Texas, USA. Mr. Ho Dac Danh, University of Minnesota Golden Gophers class of 1994, contributed significantly to its construction.

Thanks to the generosity of Mr. Ho Dac Danh and Ms. Kim Le, the family has a much-improved living condition, and the three children, Tri, Khoi, and Tien, now have a solid environment where they can study, learn, and grow.

Kids Promise also gave the family essential items, including a fan, a dining table, ten chairs, a bicycle, desks, school clothes, and shoes for the children. These gifts will improve the family’s living conditions and support the three children’s studies!

The ceremony ended with an overwhelming feeling of joy. Seeing Mr. Kiem’s family receive their new house will continue motivating us at Kids Promise to bring hope to families in similarly difficult situations.
