Grandparents and Grandchildren Receive Charity Home #41

A family of grandparents and children have received our latest Charity Home. Mr. Le Van Hung and Mrs. Nguyen Thi My of Cay Lay district, Tien Giang province, are struggling to support their grandchildren due to poverty, Mr. Hung’s age and Mrs. My’s illness. The children’s father was killed in a traffic accident, and so a safe and dry home is especially important for giving them a stable learning environment.

Mr. Hung is 60 years old and works construction projects whenever possible, though the salary is only enough to feed the family and often not enough for his wife’s medicine. Their home isn’t robust, and so Mr. Hung was very worried about storms damaging the home and injuring his family. At his age, he thought a solid home was simply a dream.

With the help of local officials, Kids Promise volunteers connected with the family and approved them for a new home that is cool, safe and dry. The children are able to continue in school, and the gift of a small study table and bicycle will give the family more mobility and support.
